Delta travelers’ plans take a detour after de-icing truck strikes plane

Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – Travel plans were stymied for passengers aboard a Delta Airlines Flight at Hancock International Airport on Wednesday morning after their plane was struck by a de-icing truck.

The plane – which was bound for Atlanta – was stuck on the tarmac after the incident and 149 passengers were forced to get off.

The aircraft sustained only minor damage.

Some customers were put on a smaller plane, which departed a short time later.

Delta says it is still working to accommodate the other travelers who were impacted.
