At 11 a.m. today, Purdue’s Department of Aviation Technology will officially receive a donated commercial aircraft from Delta Airlines.
The aircraft will be used for research and training at the Purdue University Airport, and it will help students gain knowledge about Federal Aviation Administration maintenance. The plane will also be used to practice towing, servicing and taxiing. The aircraft is a 50-seat jet that was manufactured in 1995 and was flown by a Purdue pilot instructor while in service.
The jet will be received by students and faculty at the Niswonger Aviation Technology Building.
